If you're coming to Zul'jin with us, post here with your planned character name on the new realm.

Edit: Fun fact, I don't have an authenticator, and the account needs to have been on one for 7 days in order to xfer a guild. I just placed an order for one, so this shit's delayed a week + however long it takes to ship. Yes, I am serious.

So, if you're doing that guild transfer thing, do we wait for the guild to move over first? Or would we lose our guild rep by transferring before the guild does?

I'll be keeping my old name, there currently isn't a Stjames on Zul'Jin.

You will lose your guild rep if you move over before the guild is transfered.

Hopefully the transfer happens before 4.3 cause the only way I can keep my name is by adding an accent to a letter and they are going to take away the ability to do that with 4.3. Plan to use VanyƩ.

Promote somebody with an authenticator to GM. We move. Everyone wins. We all make fun of you for having a shitty phone.

Agreed. Simple solution.

The promote thing doesn't work, either. Gm has to have had the guild for 7 days before they can xfer, so same deal (except for how long the authenticator takes to ship).

That still saves us 3-4 days unless you go out and get a real phone today. Still worth doing imo.

Not expecting a fanatically long time for it to ship, seeing as I live in a suburb of NYC. Doubt they keep all of their keychain authenticators on the west coast.

I dunno if any of you have a lot of gold but there's a 50k per character limit. Keep that in mind.

Unless you ordered it in a specific speed (i.e. overnight) you'd be surprised at how long it can take. I think it took two weeks for me to get my authenticator, but that was back shortly after they first came out so i'm sure demand drove some of that delay. Nonetheless, I wouldn't be surprised if it took a week to get there.

I guess I can see the security reasons for it, but I would think an actual phone call to blizzard would override any need for an auth. Security questions and all that stuff they do when you call. Not that we're in a huge rush, i guess, would just be nice to get it over with before I disappear for a week.

Well, I'm properly "authenticated" now, though I've still gotta wait the 7 days. I can try opening an in-game ticket to see if calling their customer service would let me skip ahead, though I doubt it.

Edit: Ticket submitted, let's see.

Editedit: Call-in authenticator doesn't count, nor would a call do anything because the process is automated. Passing the guild would only save however long shipping time is, and would peg somebody else with the costs (plus, I'm reluctant to give up the GM spot, partially because I already configured the tabs to haul some of my stuff over to the new server, but also just because I don't want to give up the guild unless I get it back over there).

If i was an account thief, you can be damn sure i'd have an authenticator on my account. What a stupid policy.

Then I guess we wait the 10 days or so. Not a big deal in the long run, I suppose.
